Our lockable, fully enclosed hayshed measures 42m x 20m and protects our hay from all types of weather (even during our recent visit from Tropical Cylcone Alfred!!). 🌀
Beings as environmentally friendly as possible we have LED lighting inside, and 84 solar panels on the roof to offset our power costs on the farm. The whole property runs on solar. 😎
We keep the doors closed the majority of the time, to preserve the colour and quality of the hay for you. 🐄 🐴 🌿
We have a large parking/loading area, with gravel under the grass, so all you have to do is drive down the driveway and park out from the shed. No need to back in, we will bring the bales out by forklift or tractor with loader.
If you're not madly in love with backing your float or trailer don't worry, we have heaps of room to do a big circle as you leave. No stress!! We've even loaded Semi-trailers here.
Bad Weather?? No Problem!!! If you have a fully enclosed horse float you can still pick up your hay, just drive in one door and out the other.
The Lockyer Valley is in the Top Ten Most Fertile Farming Areas in the World and our Tenthill Valley has some of the best soil around.
Our crystal clear water originates in the Main Range National Park. It runs into Tenthill Creek and feeds the underground aquifer for our bores. We are lucky to have this gorgeous creek running along our western boundary. 😍
We are truly blessed by Mother Nature. We do our best to work hand in hand with nature to produce nutritious hay to keep your animals happy and healthy.
Our farm has been certified organic for over 25 years. It's more than just NOT using chemicals. It's very much about soil biology and biodiversity in general.
We work in harmony with nature which also means lots of chipping and hand weeding etc!! You will often find us "head down, bum up" in the lucerne paddocks removing any unwanted weeds or grasses. 🌱
Being Certified Organic means that our practices are audited at least once a year. We can also have an "unannounced audit" from time to time. We have to keep very detailed records of absolutely everything we do. Each time we bale that lot will be assigned a Batch Number and at audit time we have to be able to tell our auditor everything that went on in that paddock. This includes any organically allowed natural inputs that we might need to use (luckily we use very few!). We record the rate, where we purchased the product, it's batch number, DOM, and who it was applied by and how, even noting the time and wind speed & direction!!). We also record the day and time of when lucerne was mowed, raked, baled and how many bales came off the paddock .... PLUS so much more!! That's why you will see a batch number on your invoice! These third party inspections are your guarantee that we are the real deal 😁
We love the organic lifestyle and growing organic hay for you. It makes it harder for us and costs us more to grow, there's no doubt about that, but we are proud to sell you our organic hay. 🌿
It takes hard work, dedication and at times a sense of humour! 😝 😂
